The Mission of the Zanesville Fire Department is to protect lives and property; to provide a variety of professional services and educational programs to our community, wherever called upon.
We provide fire suppression within the City of Zanesville and on a mutual aid basis with area departments. The department is equipped and trained for rescues in the areas of vehicle extrication, water rescue, confined space and trench. Personnel are trained as emergency medical technicians and provide emergency medical services on a first-responder basis. We maintain a fully equipped advanced life support medic for transport services when the paid ambulance service is not available. The department is also trained for rescue activities and hazardous materials response on a regional basis.
